CROSWELL, Mich. — Sons and daughters of first-crop sire Captain Victorious swept all four divisions of the Michigan Colt Stakes for 2-year-old pacers held Tuesday (June 17) at the Croswell Fair, the first stop on the 2025 Michigan fair harness racing circuit.
Believeincaptain, out of Believeincarrie, took the speed badge with a 2:04 debut win over Eleanor’s Night in the first $7,500 Colt Stakes split for male pacers. Kody Massey drove the $16,000 purchase by Oldford Racing and Allen Sisco Stable at the 2024 Winner’s Circle Speed Sale for trainer Allen Sisco. Otis Octane took the second male pacing division, winning in 2:10 for driver John Moody, trainer Kevin St. Charles and owner E C S Racing. The son of Amasa Arion sold under the name Amasa Dan for $21,000 at the Winner’s Circle Speed Sale.
Lady Victorious and trainer-driver LeWayne Miller rallied to a 2:08.2 win in the first $7,500 division for rookie pacing fillies for owner Rockylanes, who paid $6,000 for the daughter of Arts Meme at the Winner’s Circle Speed Sale. Sallysmokingun completed the quartet of winners by Captain Victorious with a 2:11.1 win in the second filly division. Drew Neill drove the daughter of Girllookatthatbody for trainer Tim Roach and owners Lance Baylis and Geoff Howles.
