CAMPBELLVILLE, Ont. — Doon, a daughter of Michigan sire Captain Victorious, won her first qualifier Friday morning (June 6) at Woodbine Mohawk Park, pacing home in :27 to win in 1:58.1.
With James MacDonald at the lines for trainer Dominic Gladu, the first foal out of Dreamadreamforme sat a three-hole trip behind fractions of :29.4, 1:01.4 and 1:30.2 before making her move at the top of the stretch. Doon steadily closed ground through the final eighth of a mile to just nab pacesetter Midnight Bridget by a neck.
Doon, whom Thestable Doon Group purchased for $9,500 at the 2024 Winner’s Circle Speed Sale, was bred by Denna Sattelberg, of Byron, Mich.
